@SilCindy hi! First off, welcome to the BraceletBook community! So as for your question, I would suggest making this pattern with the 11 strings it shows. I don’t know how to make the Greek wave with 13 strings but if you’ve found a tutorial and you really like it or you think you can do it, go ahead! If you don’t, I would suggest trying the 11 string one(this one) and then maybe moving on to the 13 string. And just a disclaimer-it might look a little lopsided at the beginning but keep going and I’m sure you can do it! Have fun!

Is this ok for beginniners? I’ve only made like 4 other bracelets and I don’t want to mess up and waste my string!! 😞

Hi I am very new to making friendship bracelets and this page. I'm so excited to learn as many as I can. I have now made a few, and I want to make this one now. I have been watching a few tutorials on Youtube. I finally have learned to read a pattern.. LOL So Im excited to learn on this website. But I have a question about one tutorial I watched. They used 13 strings to make this bracelet. Can you add more strings to make this greek wave work? I have watched it and I am getting confused. Maybe I should just make it with 11 first and then see If I can make it with 13.. Thanks for any advice. ❤️ 🙂 😉 👍 ❤️ ❤️

@Trixie7 I'm no pro, but what I do is generally make the strings about as long as my wingspan aka ~4 feet and then fold in half. This is generally more than enough for each bracelet with a generous amount left over to tie the knot at the end!

counting strings from 1 to 11, left to right:
- make 7, 8, and 9 about a fifth longer than the other strings
- 10 and 11 don't get to be waves. they are the three knots inside the wave. they can be a little shorter than the others
