@mialp26 There really is no right or wrong way to segment knot, and there are many ways to do it. But if it were me, I'd do a diagonal start instead of a triangle start. I'd start at the first knot at the top left side(so the first knot in row one), and then I'd go downward diagonally, which would stop at row 13 in the pattern. Once you add in each string according to the pattern, then you can start knotting each row diagonally. So you'll have a diagonal start instead of the triangle start. I hope that makes sense! It's a lot easier to show than to explain lol! But if you don't understand or you have any questions, feel free to ask! I don't mind! I've been knotting for 30 yrs so I have plenty of experience! 👍
to everyone who was getting wonky edges, i segment knotted and didnt use the straight edge technique but i found that keeping my knots a little loose, especially at the triangles on the edges, helped prevent most of the waviness 🙂
Finally had the chance to make this pattern (which is now one of my favorites 😊). I started one, before my pictured one, and it was all wavy and bulgy in places - like most zigzag type patterns, so I stopped segment knotting (which I do all the time) and decided to knot this one row-by-row. Let me tell you it made ALL the difference. So if you're having problems with ACTUAL straight edges give row-by-row a try. As long as your knot tension is consistent it should remove any wonky edges you might experience 😊. 🥰 Another great pattern @sodapop! 💙💛
@zumotamekk this is kind of late, but when i was doing it, on mostly the edges i paid a lot of attention to how the knots moved and made tried to tie them to make them all sort of goin the same way if that makes sense.
