Finished 1/17/2026! I made this based on a monarch butterfly as a gift for my godmother! I tried two different methods of tying the butterflies, and there was so little difference that I just stuck to whatever I had to think about the least. To get both sides to meet with as little gap in the knots as possible, I worked up both sides until row 7 and saved the center knot for last. As soon as I had that center knot tied as tightly as I wanted it, I did the orange knots on row 8 to prevent the thread from slipping and loosening the knot. Then I did the rest of the butterfly as usual.
I think the black thread I used for the border on the butterfly must have had more strands than the other ones I used, it just looks so thick and overpowering that I think the shape gets a little lost. I'm really proud of how the chains on this bracelet actually round out a bit? I've only ever made one style of chain bracelet before, #159409, and I think it's just the shape of the linked piece that determines whether the chains round out or not. On this bracelet, my chains were 7 knots long, and my beginning loop had 14 knots.
@shiva_macr for this pattern I don't think there's any way to get the butterflies in 6 different colors. There just aren't enough strings to support that many colors, and I can't figure out a way to create a new pattern, similar to this one, but with that many colors. I did make another version of this one with the butterflies in 2 different colors if that would work for you - #147545 Also, patterns #94093 and #94092 by @sodapop aren't chain bracelets, but they both have butterflies and use more colors if you like either of those! 🙂
hello everyone 🙂 if anyone could help me with a doubt, that'd be awesome. I love this pattern and I was wondering if there's a way of doing butterflies with different colors, like 6 butterflies in one bracelet with all different colors. Hope that makes sense 😅 Thank you in advance!! 😁
